This Expert level is intended to help users become comfortable with using advanced tools such as macros and forms. This course will also help more experienced users solidify their understanding of styles, reference tools, forms, and SharePoint functionality. Highlights of the course include complete coverage of styles; information on commenting, tracking changes, and combining and comparing documents; a discussion on various types of documentation tools (including references, citations, bibliographies, tables of contents, indexes, tables of figures, and tables of authorities); a walkthrough on creating a form in Word; and information on creating and using macros. SharePoint server and blogging tools will also be discussed.

Prerequisites:

MO10MW301—Microsoft Office Word 2010 - Advanced or equivalent is mandatory.

Course Outline

  • Using Styles
    • To begin, participants will learn all about creating, using, and managing styles.
  • Managing Documents
    • Next, participants will learn how to comment a document, track changes, and manage markup. The Compare and Combine features will also be covered. Finally, participants will learn how to use Outline view to create and modify an outline.
  • Working with References
    • Next, Word’s referencing tools will be discussed. These tools include references, citations, bibliographies, tables of contents, indexes, tables of figures, and tables of authorities. Master and subdocuments and document links will also be covered.
  • Creating Forms
    • This section will show participants how to create, modify, and distribute a form using Word 2010.
  • Advanced Topics
    • The final section of this course will cover macros, file objects, SharePoint workspaces, and blogging tools.
