This program will provide an in-depth study of what digital marketing is and why it's important. You will learn how digital marketing campaigns can be a cost effective and innovative means of communicating with the public and stakeholders, increasing product and services awareness and enhancing business relationships. A selection of tools available to digital marketers will be reviewed and some of the advantages and risks of using certain tools and technologies will be discussed. You will have an opportunity to explore various social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, blogs and more, and discover how you might use these tools in your own digital marketing campaigns.

Program Outline

The Digital Marketing Certificate comprises the following three modules. If you want to pursue the Public Sector Digital Marketing designation, an additional sixth module is required to complete the certificate program. Please see the Public Sector Digital Marketing certificate program.

Intro to Digital Marketing

This module will provide an overview of what digital marketing is and why it's important. You'll learn how digital marketing campaigns can be a cost effective and innovative means of communicating with the public and stakeholders, increasing products and services awareness and enhancing business relationships. A selection of tools available to digital marketers will be reviewed and some of the advantages and risks of using certain tools and technologies will be discussed. You will have an opportunity to explore various social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and more, and discover how you might use these tools in your own digital marketing campaigns.

Digital Content Development

There are myriad digital platforms and they all have different requirements when it comes to content. This module will delve into ways you can use content to foster brand loyalty and build trust with your audiences. You will learn about tools to create video, text, audio, and photography and learn best practices for creating exciting and engaging content across various channels such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and email. We'll also look at online advertising platforms such as Google Adwords and Facebook Ads and explore ways of integrating these content types into your overall digital strategy.

Digital Analytics

Measuring the results of your online campaigns is key to the success of any digital marketing strategy. This module will show you the importance of having a comprehensive measurement strategy, starting with figuring out what to measure and why, and delving into the best tools available to help you measure your digital marketing campaigns. We'll explore measurement tools such as Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics and Facebook Insights and discover how these tools can be used to effectively track results of your campaigns.
