Accessibility Compliance Deadlines are Fast Approaching
Is your team understaffed? Are your people overworked? To render a PDF form fully WCAG 2.1 accessible (built using Adobe LiveCycle Designer) one would have to test over 75 critical aspects of the forms structure. A typical 5-page form could take a skilled accessibility forms tester over 2 days to do so. If your organization has tens, hundreds or even thousands of forms, the road towards WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance can be very long and very costly.
Eliquo's LiveCycle Designer Accessibility Validation (LDAV) service can assist organizations with this process by making WCAG 2.1 accessibility testing extremely efficient and very cost effective. The LDAV service is typically completed with a 48 hour turnaround (2 business days) and provides clients with the only comprehensive accessibility testing service that finds all technical and functional errors for you.
What Does the LDAV Test?
Developed with WCAG 2.1 AA compliance in mind, the LDAV service tests key technical issues known to cause WCAG 2.1 AA failures. Some of the key points tested by the LDAV service are:
- Alternative text availability for non-text content such as images
- Heading structure and consistent visual formatting of headings
- Table and list structure
- Proper association and placement of labels (captions)
- Sufficient colour contrast between foreground and background items
- Screen Reader Precedence, Tooltip text and Custom Screen Reader text
Each LDAV tested form is returned to our client with a comprehensive testing report that clearly indicates any errors and where they reside within the form. The accuracy in our reporting enables our clients to make their repairs quickly and concisely allowing them to post their WCAG 2.1 compliant forms in record time.
Over 75 technical issues are checked on every form object. Issues are divided into errors (critical issues that will most likely cause WCAG 2.1 AA compliance failures) and warnings (issues that may cause compliance failures and/or disrupt functional use of the form). This comprehensive report contains a list of errors and warnings accompanied by an explanation, possible causes and possible solutions, and the specific path to the offending object. This gives your developers the guidance they need to repair the errors swiftly and efficiently before moving on to functional testing. In many cases, a clean bill of health from the LDAV can eliminate 90% of your testing and repairing time.
How Does it Work?
For a flat, per form, scalable fee, we will run your forms through our proprietary software based on WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Your report is generated and returned to you typically within 48 hours (2 business days).
